A mesmerizing new video and photo series by noted director and current UCSD
lecturer, Wolfgang Hastert, 'Tom is Your Friend' explores ideas of community
and communication vis-a-vis social networking sites. The works make a
profound and bitter-sweet comment on "friending in cyberspace" as they
portray a young generation that wants to hook up but gets caught up in
romantic anxiety.
