Happy birthday Mom! she turned 81 on saturday.

I did not notice the bird's nest sitting in the center of the rose tree. I bought the tree, brought it home, and planted it. When I was pruning and cleaning I was ready to move the clump of dead leaves away from the center of the tree when I realized IT WASN'T A CLUMP OF LEAVES, but rather a nest. It was shocking almost. The poor bird's egg had been poked and there are little holes in it. I am sure some other bird came along and did the damage. Interesting that a bird made a nest in the middle of a nursery. I was sad all the same.

Monkey gets a bath almost every weekend. It has been extra hot lately so I decided to not only give her a bath for obvious reasons, but also to give her an opportunity to cool off. Not sure if she appreciated it but she seemed much happier after the fact.

i just planted some rose trees in my backyard, definitely LATE in the season. I got them 1/2 off so I went for it. I bought three different versions of PINK - this is my first rose from one of the trees. The others have new growth and buds, so I should be expecting roses soon :)

someone flagged my video as inappropriate on FLICKR. NOW LET'S GET ONE THING STRAIGHT - this was an exercise in using my canon 5d video aspects, and using studio lights and a studio setting as the forum. an exercise. a technical exercise. HOW YOU CAN VIEW THIS AS PORNOGRAPHY IS BEYOND ME! if you find a muscular man offense, well that's one thing, but the video content itself is not offensive. that's like flagging a photo inappropriate because it has the color REd in it and you hate red. What could it have been? The male physique hurt their eyes? They didn't like his nipples and were blushing with innocence? He was wearing black briefs - OOOHH was it the black briefs?

08.17.09 I collect plates and hang them on my wall @ work. it's a constant source of entertainment for me.

08.17.09 had twp photoshooots today. used the white backdrop.

I own these glases. They are Dorothy Thorpe, a Los Angeles based glass artist who ended up designing glassware and diningware in the 1950s and 1960s. Her work is iconic and fabulous and timeless. And of course they are on MAD MEN, a most WONDERFUL eye candy of a show!
